We are a business development company, focusing on providing energy solutions and ​power engineering consultancy services to utilities, independent power producers and ​related parties in the power generation sector in the Caribbean. We exist to serve the ​needs of our customers and our stakeholders in a cost effective, timely and efficient ​manner while developing an open and collaborative relationship with our client base.

Our team has a wealth of experience both locally and internationally, with members ​having worked for Fortune 500 companies in business development and asset ​management roles, publishing numerous internationally reviewed technical papers in ​electrical engineering and being recognized as experts in the regional power sector.

STEPHEN BADRIE

BSc Mech Eng. (HONS), MBA International Finance (UWI), Managing Director

With a proven history of success in a number of high value energy projects, Stephen is skilled at identifying business opportunities and crafting strategies to effectively develop them in world class businesses. Stephen has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the power sector in both regional and international markets having worked for Fortune 500 companies such as AES, Southern Company, and BP. He was previously employed as Chief Executive Officer of the Trinidad Generation Unlimited 765MW combined cycle facility in Trinidad, building a world-class business from the ground up, after leading the local business development effort from permitting through construction and successful commissioning while at AES. His interests are also in renewable energy and in developing large scale wind generation projects and solar photovoltaic systems. He has conducted project development work with a major gas energy company in Trinidad and Tobago and was the Project Manager for the UNDP managing the installation of over 100kW of Rooftop Solar PV installations at 12 sites across Trinidad and Tobago and providing Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries on developing a Renewable Energy Policy and Feed in Tariff Implementation plan. Stephen holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and a MBA specializing in International Finance.

Professor SANJAY BAHADOORSINGH

Technical Director, BSc Elec Eng. (UWI), PhD (UOM)

Completed the B.Sc. degree at The University of The West Indies, the M.Sc. degree at UMIST and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at The University of Manchester. He continued post-doctoral research at Manchester until he joined the Faculty of Engineering at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine as a lecturer in 2010. He continues to serve as, a member of the Electrical Technical Committee, the Co-Chairman of Specification Committee for Electric and Plug in Hybrid Vehicles at the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards. He is a registered Electrical Engineer with the board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago, a registered High Voltage Testing Engineer with the GEI, and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He is a former Chairman of IEEE Trinidad and Tobago Section. He has contributed to the introduction and development of sustainable renewable energy projects such as leading 49.5MW wind project within Trinidad. Given years of academic and practical experience, he has provided electrical power consultancy services as well as high voltage testing services. He has published numerous scholarly articles and industry oriented technical reports in power system operation and planning, renewable energy integration, asset management and dielectric ageing focusing on electrical treeing within polymeric cable insulation. He has been the lead presenter as well as specially invited guest at various presentations worldwide in the implementation and improvement of power and renewable energy systems especially within the Caribbean.

CHANDRBHAN SHARMA

Electricial Engineering Consultant

Professor Chandrabhan Sharma possesses an impressive academic background with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (1979), an M.Sc. in Power Systems (1982), and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on Energy Systems (1992), all from the University of the West Indies. Professor Sharma's professional journey is marked by significant contributions to the energy sector in Trinidad. He has held prestigious positions on the Boards of Directors for several key organizations, including the Power Generation Company and the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission. Currently, he serves as a full Professor specializing in Energy Systems and is the Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, UWI, Trinidad and Tobago.

His leadership extends beyond academia. In 2005, as the Deputy Chair of the Trinidad and Tobago Chapter of IEEE, Professor Sharma played a pivotal role in elevating the Chapter (of Puerto Rico) to full Section status, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of electrical engineering. With a prolific output of over a hundred published articles and technical reports, Professor Sharma's contributions to the industry, particularly in the realm of Energy Systems and the integration of Renewable technology into island grids, are widely recognized. His expertise and insights have been instrumental in shaping the energy landscape, positioning him as a leading authority in electrical engineering and renewable energy integration.


Business Development & Engineering Consultancy

We provide services in project development, ownership, operation, and consultancy for power generating systems, as well as consultancy in high and medium voltage electrical engineering.

Business/Project Development Engagement by the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (N.G.C.) on developing a strategy and market for Regional small scale L.N.G. Supply to Utilities in Latin America and the Caribbean.


Design Engineers, hired by The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago to replace obsolete switchgear and specify new switchgear as well as project managing of installation of new H.V. system.


Nationwide Outage Report – Our Team was commissioned to undertake an independent investigation into the circumstances triggering blackouts in a Caribbean Island and to develop appropriate recommendations to mitigate a reoccurrence of the problem.


Our team was coopted by the Chairman of a Cabinet Appointed Expert Committee to investigate the causes of the island wide power outage in Trinidad and Tobago.


A Director of the company was lead author and project manager for a report on Wind Energy Generation in Trinidad & Tobago, which focused on identifying feasible sites and developing a comprehensive timeline and strategy for developing a wind energy industry.

Energy Efficiency Auditing and Renewable Energy Solutions

Our focus on renewable energy involves design and implementation strategies, ensuring sustainable and efficient energy solutions. We also provide energy efficiency auditing services, aligning with the unique requirements of our clients.

TTPV has conducted Level 1 and Level 2 energy audits, in compliance with the ISO 50,001 series of standards.

Project management of 12 Solar P.V. rooftop installations comprise of over 100kW in vulnerable communities and on public facilities and NGO’s across Trinidad and Tobago was completed by a Director.

This project was part of the EU funded GCCA+ program in Trinidad and Tobago and implemented by UNDP.


TTPV designed and installed a 3kW Solar P.V. system for a chicken farm and office located in a rural community in north Trinidad.


TTPV designed and installed a 5.5kW Solar P.V. system to meet the demand load of Matelot Police Youth Club in an area in Trinidad with significant electrical vulnerabilities. The project was funded by Global Environmental Facility (GEF) small grants program.
